When life gets hard, something I find to be helpful is writing my thoughts down. It sounds so simple to do, but it can be so cathartic.
More and more I find writing to be like a meditation, a chance to deeply tune into one aspect of my life. Sometimes my head can be quite full, and writing is a good way for me to order my thoughts and sift through them. If the same thing keeps bobbing to the surface even amongst the calm, if something is niggling away at me then I know it is time to address it.
For those of you who have not come across 91 Magazine before it is a beautifully presented quarterly magazine including great features, a lovely sprinkle of vintage, crafty DIYs and thrifty ideas for your home.
I am really excited to have a written a feature for the latest issue; about how to safely decorate and style your child’s room with vintage toys and furniture. It was out yesterday and is available here.
I have spent many a lovely hour or two – and sometimes whole days – on expeditions hunting for vintage children’s toys and furniture, and later in the week I will share my top five favourite finds… ever! They all have something extra special about them, and I’ll also let you know where I picked up, what I think are fantastic pieces.
If you know any vintage lovers who are expecting, or you yourself have little ones, then I hope you have a read of the feature and are inspired to make room for some vintage goodies in your child’s life.
