I am really excited to introduce you to my next guest in the ‘Inspired By Nature’ series. This lady is a traditional apothecary, a distiller, plantswoman and a therapist. She has had a really fascinating life and I have loved hearing more about why she does what she does. Having just opened a ‘bricks and mortar’ shop and therapy room in Lewes, East Sussex, I wanted to find out what led her to this point in her life.
I hope you enjoy reading her story. She has some wonderful insights into how nature can support and provide, in terms of self care. If you would like to live more in tune with the rhythm of the seasons but aren’t sure where to begin, then read on, she offers some brilliant advice.

It’s good to have plan I always think. A loose one at least, that you have the freedom to migrate from. Especially where creative things are concerned, I normally have a visual idea about how I would like something to look and also feel.
I have learnt along the way though, that with most things, it is best to be open and go with the flow. If you are too rigid in your idea, and not willing to adapt, you are not leaving any space for inspiration to move you.
Here, I think that creativity and motherhood have some things in common. Both can often add an unexpected twist to the mix, things don’t always pan out like you think they will, and you have to learn to roll with it. Some plans and ideas turn out to be a bit of a disappointment, and sometimes things can surprise you and be more wonderful than you could have ever imagined.
The Easter holiday was a little lesson in this for me…
Back in Wales during September, we had a magical moment on holiday. Something happened that changed the course of our day.
We were having an awful morning, full of frustration and toddler tears, and an encounter with a beautiful part of Snowdonia National Park completely shifted all of our moods. It was as if the time spent amongst nature had a profound impact on us. Does nature have a therapeutic effect on our well being? And is there even such a thing as nature therapy?
