There are so many shades of white. Even on this white rose the subtleties in colour and tone vary from petal to petal. Of course how the light hits the colour alters our perception of what we see; more shadow and contrast, or more highlights. The responsibility to pick the right colours for all the rooms in our house feels like no small task. So, how do you go about deciding what colours are the best shades for the walls in your home?
When I make it onto my yoga mat, it’s an opportunity for me to connect to myself. Firstly through, my breath… with every inhale, and exhale I feel myself arrive… my body, mind and spirit join together. Sometimes it can be the first time that day, that I am truly present in the moment.
Recently my body has been feeling pretty tired, so naturally I have wanted to do a gentle practice; a few postures, and a bit of stretching to get my body moving and work out any creases. A lot of pranayama (breath work) and always a little mediation and relaxation at the end.

About this time last year I shared this post about our house restoration and some plans for a simple kitchen. We were looking into simplifying and updating it since the space has not been decorated for a good thirty years. Well, shortly after writing that, I was asked to collaborate with British Gypsum on creating an inspirational work space with a magnetic wall (catch up with that here). The work room got all my attention, and the kitchen was forgotten about.
A whole year later and not much has happened. The space was left halfway finished. In fact, you couldn’t even say that. Here’s a re-cap of what we have done so far…
