It’s been a while since I shared any of the wonderful photographs that are captured using the hashtag #slowlivingforlife, so I thought I would pop in with some Winter favourites. Here are a selection of images that make me exhale and feel calm just by looking at them.
Happy New Year to you all. I feel like I could hibernate for another month, but life and reality have been calling to me this last week, and I am gradually easing myself back into things.
After a blogging and Instagram break, I feel like I have lost my voice a little, and ironically I actually did lose my voice, and have been croaking my way through this week.
I like to start the year by reflecting back at the previous year, I have also been thinking about what is coming up in 2017, what I am hoping to fill my year with, and what dreams I would like to nurture.
December can whizz by in a festive frenzy if we’re not careful. That’s why there are some slow Winter rituals that I like to do each year, that help me stay calm. Seasonal things, that I can do mindfully and with intention. Tasks that help me take a breath and slow down.
Tomorrow is the first of December, the beginning of Winter, and the first day that Bailey will open her homemade and natural Advent Calendar. The seasons have shifted once more, and our mornings have been magically frosty this last week – they have had us reaching deep into our pockets in search of mittens, and wrapping up in our soft scarves.
I’ve managed to make time to finish Bailey’s natural Advent Calendar just in time for her to open the first little brown parcel tomorrow morning.
Last May, for the second year running I attended Sisterhood Camp. A creative retreat for women, a chance to gather, to feast, to laugh, to create, to find community. A chance to escape from it all for a whole weekend and dedicate time just to you and your well being.
