vintage fabric girl’s dress

vintage fabric girls dressThis vintage fabric girl’s dress is one of my latest makes. I have been working on several things for Margot and have been using the Worthing Art Trail as a bit of a deadline to work towards.

Made from a thrifted vintage pillowcase, it is a one off, as I now only have the cutting scraps left. I just love the beautiful open flower print, and the soft pink / brown tones of the fabric.

It’s great to be able to finally finish a few pieces off. I get such enjoyment from having a play like this, and taking some photos of what I have made. For me this is just as much fun as the making itself.

succulent love – a green gift

Corner of my home on the Geoffrey & Grace blog

I mentioned in my last Styling the Seasons that I wanted to get more house plants for our home. It’s a bit of a new area for me, I’m ok with growing things in the garden, but plants for inside the house I find a bit more of a challenge. I thought some help and inspiration might be in order, and you can imagine my delight when I came across the lovely Urban Jungle Bloggers, who’s mission is to share plant shaped ideas by the bucket load. Stemming from their love of plants and interiors, Igor Josifiovic of  Happy Interior Blog and Judith de Graaff of JOELIX.com, wanted to gather together an online community of plant lovers and folk who wish to be a little green fingered.

Just a quick one from me today folks. Thought I’d swing by and share a little fabric inspiration. I discovered these vintage florals – which have been hiding in my stash – whilst organising my work room. My inspiration has been some what flattened this week by a couple of 5am starts and a three year old who is… let’s say ‘pushing her boundaries’.

Little Green – March styling the seasons

styling the seasons march - a little green

This months Styling the Seasons is inspired by Joni Mitchell and is about rediscovering the beauty in things I’d forgotten I had.

March means the beginning of Springtime to me and nothing says Springtime quite like Daffodils and Irises. Daffodils are such a friendly flower, and I love how low maintenance they are. You can buy a bunch for a pound and simply place them in a vase and they look so lovely. No flower arranging or faffing is required. I do enjoy a good faff, but it is sometimes nice not to have to. This vase they are in here, was my latest charity shop find at the pleasingly good price of £2.
