Just like that, October is gone and November is here with its wintery winds. Soon the trees will be completely bare and all the colour of Autumn will be gone.
It was this time last year that I sat and wrote the very first Monthly Voice. I can’t believe that twelve months have passed, and here I am again thinking about what filled our days during October.
Here’s what we’ve been loving, and where I have found some inspiration this month…
I can’t believe it is nearly the end of November, it seems to have flown by. Only one post for me this week, as we have been a little distracted in this house by someone’s soon-to-be birthday. My husbands 40th is just around the corner, and this weekend we are having a party to celebrate. There will be friends, food and movies, and we are very much looking forward to having a house full.
Here is the second ever monthly voice, with a little round up of our month, and what has been inspiring me throughout November.
We went on a little nature walk at the weekend.
You don’t have to be in the middle of the countryside to find beautiful bits of nature. We live in a seaside town, and collected this basket full just from walking around our neighbourhood. Nature is always there, trying to live alongside us. I think sometimes we fall into the habit of getting tunnel vision, when you’re just walking around the same streets day after day, you forget to open your eyes and see what’s in front of you.
The end of September and the beginning of October is very much a time of transition and change. Autumn has arrived with its shorter days and cool, crisp skies, but the warmth of the Summer sun still returns intermittently to remind us of the Summer just gone.
The last weeks of September saw the Autumn Equinox here in England, and the harvest moon, and since then we have moved deeper into Autumn with every passing day. My mittens have made it out of my pockets and before we know it Winter will be upon us.
Hello, it’s been a busy few weeks. Hope you are all well? Things are still a bit manic here with the move! It has been two of the most stressful weeks ever! Please keep your fingers crossed, that it is plain(ish) sailing from here.
I wanted to stop by for a quick, “Hi, hello, how are you” and join in with ‘Styling the seasons’. Katy from Apartment Apothecary (who you may remember from the blog hop), along with Charlotte, another clever blogger and maker, from Lotts and Lots blog, came up with a lovely simple idea. Our homes can often look the same for most of the year, apart from a few christmas decorations in December. It’s nice to mark the passing of the months, the changes we see in nature, and then reflect this in our home.
With all the ‘hoo ha’ of the move, the house had got a little neglected. So this was a lovely way for me to give it a little spruce and style to one area.
