CREATING WITH NATURE WITH FARROW & BALL

Inspired by nature and creating with nature in collaboration with Farrow & Ball. Hop over to Geoffrey and Grace to see more photos...Well, you all know that nature is a big inspiration to me. Spending time outdoors and playing amongst nature is one of the main things that helps me slow down and of course it improves my well-being too.

Farrow & Ball have just launched a new range of floral themed wallpapers, and I was really delighted to be set the challenge (a long with a handful of other bloggers) of bringing their new wallpaper designs to life using flowers and nature.

It was so much fun to spend a morning getting creative with their beautiful wallpaper and some greenery and florals. Nature plus creativity equals one happy me.

There are three new wallpaper designs available and I chose the Atacama print, named after the flowering desert in Northern Chile.

The wallpaper is available in a range of colourways and I just fell in love with this combination, there is something about this soft green and pale pink that is really atmospheric. I’m not normally attracted to pink at all, but this pale pink is far from sugary and makes the perfect companion for this slightly murky green.

The wallpaper is created using Farrow & Ball paint and traditional block printing methods and I love that you can see the texture and relief of the paint printed onto the paper. I think there is so much beauty to be found in those little details that are only present if something is handcrafted.

The pattern was inspired by a piece of fabric found hidden in an old mill and it has a real vintage feel to it. One of my favourite things about a vintage object is the story that comes with it, that sense of history and intrigue. The wallpaper to me had such a strong vintage vibe that I wanted to really sink into that feeling. Plus, I knew I wanted to bring a lot of greenery indoors to bring the wallpaper to life.

You can see the photographs that I took below, and I’m also sharing a little video footage over on Instagram Stories, so do pop over there for a look too.

The more we can bring nature into our lives the better. Obviously having fresh flowers, plants and greenery in our homes lifts ours spirits. However, also using floral prints, illustrations, wallpaper and fabrics is a great way to remind us of all the beauty that is present in the natural world, and the positive impact nature can have on our well-being.
